2011 Jeep Compass

Its ' Jeep Modern' design--with an odd combination Wrangler/CJ design cues in front and an odd, angular crossover tail--never quite took with either conservative Jeep suburbanites or with the hip urban folks Jeep originally aimed it at.... The new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee , the Compass's larger, hardier sibling, got a complete redesign this year, and it's been almost unanimously lauded for being attractively proportioned, if a bit conservative. The short story is that Jeep tried to give the 2011 Compass the Grand Cherokee treatment. The Compass hasn't received a complete redesign for 2011, just some softened sheetmetal and new front and rear end styling. Overall, the Compass has a vaguely sleeker, classier look from some angles, but the changes don't reduce the Compass's ungainliness, to our eyes.

Q:

I have a 1984 Jeep CJ-7 w/ garnet (maroon) interior. Any ideas where I may be able to get seats this color?

A: You will be amazed on what a local auto upholstery shop can do these days. They can dye or have dyed leather or vinyl in any color you desire. Example: My 81 Wagoneer SJ with Nutmeg interior, front seats were broken and couldn't find any low back type seats I had. Found seats out of an 85 Grand Wagoneer with tan seats. Took them to a auto upholstery shop and two weeks later I had Nutmeg dyed LEATHER POWER seats, where as before I had vinyl low back seats.
It is not cheap, but if it is what you want, money is no object! (answered by Jeep Freak 81 on March 06, 2007)

A: you can try ebay or check the local junkyard! (answered by dabomb_562000 on March 05, 2007)

Q:

What was the difference in a Jeep CJ-5 Levi's Edition & the Standard Model, in 1976?

I have a 1976 Jeep Renegade CJ-5, Levi's Edition. It has the 304 V-8 engine and runs great. It has the Levi's emblem on the side panels, but that is all, as the interior is shot and the seats no longer have the covering.

I would like to know if the Levi's Edition makes a big value difference and exactly what the difference was.

I am trying to sell mine, and I have it listed at $2900, which I believe is a steal.

I have found low book value to be around $7,000, so I want to make sure I am asking a reasonable price.

Thanks! Any pictures would be helpful, to show what it looked like new. Mine is the Orange Model.

A: The levi Edition was a package that came on some Cj (renegades), pick-ups(Honchos), and full-size cherokees(cherokee chiefs). It had the levi seat covers, dash cover, and on the pick-up and cherokee door panels. I think it came out about76 or so. If the interior is shot, all you have left is the sticker. As far as the price what kind of shape is the rest of the jeep in? That is what you have to judge your price on. Check out jeepin.com. (answered by mikie on May 25, 2009)

Q:

How do I find out the value of a 1967 CJ5 Jeep?

My husband and I recently decided we wanted to find a Jeep that he can play with. We found someone who is willing to do a trade with us. Here is his ad:

1967 Jeep CJ-5. v-6, 3 spd, headers. Bikini top, soft top. New steering wheel, Kenwood cd player, new gauges. Rear seat included, but needs a cover. New wheels and tires. Good condition. $4500 obo

I need to know from what is listed above if the price listed is fair. I cannot find anything online that will give me a value. If anyone has any experience or knowledge with these types of older cars please help! Or if you know of a site I can go to, please let me know. I dont want to pay more than we should on this. I have found a few 1993 Wranglers that are listed cheaper than the CJ5. Is this a collector's car or something rare?
Thanks!!!
I have already checked the normal places...Kelly Blue Book, Edmunds and a general Google search.
To see pics of the Jeep we are looking at go to:

I tried to just copy and paste pics, but couldnt figure it out!

A: my 73 cj-5 was only about 75% complete, not running, and not in the best physical shape, and needed much work and I sold it for $1200
I think $4500 for a jeep that appears to be in decent physical condition, starts and runs decent and does not appear to need any major work is extreemly fair price.

best way to find out what it is worth is look on e-bay, and compare the prices to the actual condition of the jeep.
only look at the one's that are selling, I know there are one's that say buy now for $20,000 and they have been on there over and over again for months, just click on the one's comproable to the one you want to buy, click watch this item, then see what it actually sold for at the end of the week.

no book is going to be able to tell you how much an old jeep is worth because there is so many different modifications they could have and so many different levels of being "rigged" together they could be in.

I highly recomend the jeep owners bible by Moses Ludel it tells exactly what to look for on every era of jeep made made, and it is written so the average person can make sense of it even if you have very little mechanical knowledge, but it is not for idiots, it is also helpful if you are very mechanically inclined.
it can be found at almost every book store I have been in. i own 2 of them he puts out a new one every few years, but the old information stays the same, he just adds the newer stuff

also if you are looking for something that is compatable with many parts, and you can get parts for easily you want something 1976 and newer, I thought all the one's from the 70's wher compatable when I bought my 73, but it turns out only 76 and up are 72-75 are probably some of the best made, aside from the weak frame on the non renegade models, but real oddball years, not compatable with anything other than 72-75, and really hard to find parts for, most parts must be fabricated (answered by grungeant on April 26, 2007)
