Q:

what is the value of a 1982 jeep cj5 ?

i have a 1982 jeep cj5. it runs good in good condition for an 82. if i replace the top get rid of the little rust and repaint it how much would it be worth.
(asked by steven w on May 02, 2009)

A: Depends on the miles and the condition. Either way jeeps hold their value so you could probably get at least $1000 even in the worst condition. If it's got less than 100k you could definitley get a couple thousand. (answered by on February 05, 2325)

A: It is worth whatever someone will pay for it. (answered by jeepsarecool on May 03, 2009)

Q:

Need Pictures on a 1983 CJ5 Jeep vaccum lines with offset air cleaner housing?

I just purchased a 1983 CJ5 jeep from oregon and brought it to California and is not smog ready. All the smog components and lines have been taken off. I just purchased the original carburator and air cleaner but am missing all vacuum lines. The air cleaner mounts on the valve cover with a bracket and the top of the air cleaner lays on the carb. Has anyone ever seen this? do I have the correct air cleaner housing? Does anyone have any pictures of their engine with this type of air cleaner? My engine is a inline 6cyl and again it is a 1983 CJ5. All your answers are truly and very appreciated. Thank you.. Oh! and by the way I have purchased me a chiltons jeep book but is not helping me.

A: I used to have a 1982 CJ7 that died quite some years ago. What a marvelous vehicle.

That ought to help. I also have (somewhere) the factory technical manual for the old '82 around here somewhere. I've snagged your address and if I bump into it, I'll email you.

Good luck with your new toy. (answered by LW on September 26, 2007)

Q:

Is it expensive to replace heating coil in 1979 CJ5 Jeep?

I I have a 1979 CJ5 Jeep and it loses water. For example, When I turn the heater on in winter time, all I see is steam coming out of window's went. They said the heating coil needs to be replaced. Is it expensive? I live in Plano, Texas.
I will pick the best answer later.
(asked by Digital Man on August 28, 2007)

A: As you live in Plano..I live in Houston. For now, disconnect thte two hoses going to the heater CORE and using a hose connector and two small clamps, connect them into a loop. DO NOT PLUG THEM. Now no water goes to the heater core and no leak for now..To hot to do this right now.
For cost..no labor, but not hard as talked about above, at Auto Zone. P/N 399210 $35.99
