Sedona oozes minivan usefulness - Brantford Expositor March 10, 2011

Five Macho Minivans For the Average Joe

When you require a well-rounded vehicle that can transport your family on vacation as well as make runs to the home improvement store for supplies, no one vehicle fills the bill like a minivan. However, there are several family-sized choices that offer some of the same attributes attracting the Y chromosome to vehicles like pickup trucks, sport utility vehicles and sporty sedans. You might argue that at least one of our choices isn't even a minivan, but we like to think outside of the box. Bankrate has assembled a list of five minivans offering a high level of utility, accommodations for up to six and plenty of get-up-and-go.

Q:

Where is the valet swtich on my Kia Sedona to kill the alarm?

We have a 2004 Kia Sedona minivan, with a car alarm. If we lose the remote opener keyfob, and open the car with a spare key, the alarm goes off and won't stop.

I heard somewhere that there is a "valet switch" somewhere that I can push to kill the alarm if this happens.

Does anyone know where that switch is, or a website I can go to and find it?
(asked by geoff_hazel on February 05, 2260)

A: USUALLY, and I mean USUALLY. They are somewhere just under the dash,or somewhere else the driver can easily reach, but out of casual sight.-there isn't any "set" place for them (answered by kelly s on February 05, 2880)

Q:

Does the 2004 Kia Sedona suppose to have doors that automatically lock when car is put into drive?

We have a 2004 Kia sedona, and the doors don't automatically lock when put into drive like other cars I have driven. We have to actually push the lock button to lock all the doors when we are driving. I have looked in the manual, and have found nothing. Thanks in advance!!
(asked by koko on January 02, 2009)

A: According to the Kia Sedona web site, yes, it does--today, at least. In 2004, it may have been different. If yours aren't working, take it in; locking your doors is one of the easierst and best safety steps you can take, for several reasons. Owner's manuals are notorious for not telling you what you really need to know! (answered by David W on January 02, 2009)
