I just bought a 2006 Kia Sorento and there is no owners manual. I have been putting 85 octane gas in it(that is the lowest in my state) and was wondering if I should use 87 (which is the lowest in most states). If you have a 2006 Sorento, would you please tell me what the manual says to use. Thanks a bunch...

A: ur fine on 85 car manufactures design cars to run on "pump" gas or "unleaded" gas which is all gas..unless the car is turbo charged or running hi compression which its not then ur all set.. (answered by Bill L on February 10, 917)

Has any had 2006 kia sorento that the check engine light kept coming on? What was the issue?

Is it true that if you don't get the gas cap just right that the check engine light can come on?

A: the gas cap not being tight can cause the light come on. the fuel system is pressurized and when the cap is not on tight, the pressure levels are not correct.


saying that, a light coming on does not necessarily mean its the gas cap. you should take the car to autozone (or advance..whichever you have) and ask them to check the error codes. they will do this for free. if its a fuel system error, then it is most likely the gas cap. if its another error, they can recommend the next step (either fix it yourself or go to a shop depending how proficient you are and the problem) (answered by lj1983 on February 10, 5373)

How much is it going to cost to replace a broken axle on a 2006 kia sorento?

There several other things wrong with it because of the axle going out. Brakes...etc. jus a simple estimate its in the shop now but wont get fixed till monday thank you.

A: You may not have to replace the entire thing. Brakes dont really have much to do with your axle and the internals. What exactlys wrong with the axle? There very pricey to replace, usually around the same price has head gaskets run (3000ish) (answered by Katie on February 10, 2500)
