McCormick is among a growing number of Americans struggling to keep their cars on the road, as job losses and gas at just under $4 a gallon take huge bites out of their wallets, a new AAA survey shows. • More than half of American drivers — 54% — said they don't want the financial burden of a new car, so they're keeping their older ones running. "Many Americans rely on their cars for their livelihood, and losing access to them could be financially devastating," says Jim Lardear, director of public and government affairs for AAA Mid-Atlantic. "To fix it, I need $1,000, but I just don't have it," says McCormick, of New Castle , Del.
I recently discovered that my Kia Spectra- 2005 's horn has broken .... when i press the lock button, it just makes a very loud mechanical sound (hard to describe through typing) rather than the horn honk it used to have. I've also noticed that the horn doesnt respond when I honk it... anyone know how to go about resolving this problem? anyone else out there that has had a similar problem? A: Could be a horn relay issue. Try this first. Check your owners manual for the horn relay location, after you locate it you can easily replace it like a fuse. Shouldn't cost much at a local auto parts store. If that doesn't work replace the horn with an aftermarket one, it will be much cheaper than buying one from Kia. A: It's only held on with one bolt, but it's a bugger to get to.

How do I get to the cabin air filter of 2005 Kia Spectra?
I don't know how to get grommets out that are near the glovebox. I need to install a cabin air filter and need to get to the fan as well. (Once before a piece of paper had gotten to fan and fan rattled horribly--Kia fixed it. Now I need to do it myself. Need directions on how to do this. (asked by Someone on July 04, 2009)
A: The glove box will need to be completely removed. Once the glove box is removed, you'll see 2 clip. Remove the clips and you will see the paper filter.
As for the fan, you have to remove it from the bottom of the glove box. (answered by Al on July 04, 2009)
