Q:
A: There is no "integrated telephone" on the LR3 (that is, a phone that is already installed in the car). You must provide your own telephone. There is an option for PERSONAL telephone integration (PTI), which many 2006 LR3s have. First, you need to determine if you have PTI. You say you have an SE, but you didn't say if you had a V6 or a V8... those are two very different models. A 2006 V6 could not have PTI as an option, but the button would still be there on the radio. Here are the ways to figure out if you have PTI:
1)You can look on your original window sticker.
2)You can look on your steering wheel and see if there are two buttons, a red telephone and a green telephone, mounted to the right underside of the base of the wheel.
3) If you do not have navigation, you can look on your roof and see if you have a "shark fin" antenna.
4) You can give your VIN# to any LR retailer, and they will be able to tell you.
If you DO have PTI, you will need a bluetooth enabled cell phone. Turn bluetooth on on your phone. Turn your radio on in your LR3. Go through whatever steps needed on your phone to add a new bluetooth device (This is phone specific, not vehicle specific). When it asks you for the passcode, enter 2121. Then connect. Then you will have a functioning phone in your LR3. This will mute the stereo when a phone call comes in, displaying the number on the radio bezel and instrument cluster. Simply pull the green phone button towards you to speak.
The link below has all the detailed instructions for each specific phone model, as well as videos and other information.
The manual for the bluetooth system is not in the main owner's manual, but in a separate manual, which includes the navigation and telephone systems. (answered by Alyssa on February 06, 2008)

A: The Land Rover is an absolute pile of junk. I love the styling -- I really do -- but they are a reliability nightmare. The lightning fast depreciation of the LR3 is a testament to that fact. The book value on the 06 LR3 is about $19000 -- That's a vehicle that sold new for around $45000! That's 60% depreciation, and it will continue to drop at an alarming rate (I took in an 05 Freelander in mint condition for $7500). The FJ will depreciate by about 40% in the same time period and level off.
If you don't plan on owning it long, and you don't mind taking the hit, go for the Land Rover. If you want a vehicle that'll go the long haul and hold value, go FJ. (answered by NiceCarDeal.com on December 13, 2008)
