I own a 1998 Lincoln town car. I can not get the AC to switch from Heat to cold. How do I fix this problem.?

AC compressor doesn't even turn on. I am certain it is in the control panel. Am I correct.

A: not enough info when you switch from floor to a/c does the system actual change the air flow direction as you push each button to go from floor to defrost to vent and all. if it does all that then you are probably out of freon which means you have a leak somewhere. A: Tighen each bolt in sequence to 32 lbs. Then start again and turn each bolt 90 degrees, then once again turn each bolt 90 degrees, make sure your bolts are new. (answered by 144289 on August 27, 2008)

"1998 lincoln town car will start sometimes. The battery is good and it has a new ignition switch. It does not want to crank every two to three days. It will not make a sound to start and on occasion if I put it in neutral and back in park it will crank, but this does not always work. What could be the problem?"
