Q:
What size wheels can i put on a 1999 Lincoln navigator without getting any work done on it?
(asked by Jay on July 11, 2009)
A: Anything wheel and tire combo that is taller than your stock wheels and tires. Then you will need bigger brakes to stop the larger rotating mass, and have the speedometer calibrated.
i would say 20's with a 50 series tire, or 22's with a 40 series tires. the 22's would be pushing it. (answered by on July 11, 2009)
Q:
How do I change the rear wheel bearings on a lincoln navigator 2 wheel drive? Any special tools needed?
(asked by ParradiceRanch on February 28, 2008)
A: I never knew they made a 2wd Navigator. I assume its a solid rear axle not independent. I wish you luck. After you remove the cover on the differential you need to pull the little bolt, remove the pin and C clips, and slide out the axles. Then you need a slide hammer with a bearing puller attachment. If you have positraction you better put the right fluid in too or you will kill your clutchpacks. (answered by BFH on February 28, 2008)
A: If your are not comfortable doing a simple brake job, then take it to a shop as you need to do a little bit more work than a brake job.

What would be the max if you didn't want to get any work done on it
(asked by Jay on July 11, 2009)
A: it depends on hoe much work you want to do if you want to go thru the time of a body lift its almost unlimited but if not most likely 27" rims but that also depends on how much meat your tire has if its a lowpro tire you mite be able to go 28" (answered by C.P.Cooper on July 11, 2009)
