Q:

Where do I install a performance chip on the ECU for a 1990 Mazda Miata?

I have a 1990 Mazda Miata and i want to install a performance chip in it but i don't know where to attach the 2 wires from the chip to the ecu, can someone please be specific and explain to me how to put it in, Thanks
(asked by Ruben P on February 10, 9363)

A: Those 2 wire chips do not work. All they do is make your cars fuel injection run rich by changing the readings the computer receives. So it ruins you gas mileage. No matter what you was told by who ever sold it to you. They are junk and that chip you gave big money for can be bought at Radio Shack for less than a dollar. Don't waste your time and send it back if they allow it.........md (answered by Uncle Jed on February 10, 322)

Q:

does a 1990 mazda miata have a low fuel indicator warning light?

I have a 1990 mazda miata, and I want to know if the car has a warning light for low fuel reminder/indicator. is there any?
for ex. for most cars, when gas reaches rock bottom like less than a gallon a low fuel warning light turns on on the car dash board on the gasoline gauge. this would remind drivers to fill the tank immediatly for its low on gas.
thanks

A: The NA models (1990-1997) didn't come with a low fuel light (answered by Cavu on September 18, 2008)

A: Look in the manual. (answered by Mortisha on September 18, 2008)

Q:

is it normal for a 1990 mazda miata to go 70 mph at 4500 rpms in 5th gear?

i was on the freeway and noticed the high rpms.does the transmission have another gear? if so at what point is it supposed to shift in to it?
(asked by robert s on October 03, 2007)

A: That is not a normal RPM for a 90 Miata. I do 85mph in my 91 Miata and I do not hit 4,500 RPMs. Heck mine stays around 4,000 RPMs at 85 mph. So I would say you need not only a tune up, but a full service to see why your having this kind of issue. (answered by avgordguy on October 03, 2007)
