(asked by Jacob M on February 10, 7333)

A: got my intake and pulleys off srmotorsports.com very fast shipping and good prices. Added about 30-40 hp and a very pleasing sound. (answered by fckubch on February 10, 9384)

A: it's a mazda.. not a sports car...

You can't make it much faster.

By the time you've made is "fast" you could have bought a new chevy camaro v8 that's still much faster (answered by Will T on February 10, 7571)

Q:

What are the best tires for a 2004 Mazda RX8?

What brand or type of tire is fitted best for a Mazda RX8?
(asked by flp_nieto on February 10, 4975)

A: I bought the same as the original fitted Bridgestone Potenza on my RX8 cause they have the extra little bit on the wall to help protect against scuffing the alloys. No other tyre I found had this. While they grip like glue in the dry, I have had a couple of slides on tight corners in the wet especially on roundabouts (maybe just the greasy road surface). I am aware of this and therefore drive accordingly. (answered by RX8 MATE on March 06, 2008)

A: i would get goodyear performance tires (answered by ray k on February 10, 5267)

A: It will take either a lot of money and or becoming a rotary expert.
Most of those who have posted answers have no idea. Take the cold air intake, the RX8 has a better set up then most of the after markets can supply. So maybe a panel filter to up flow.
As for headers, to just install such a thing is well beyond a novices ability, and around here no mechanic would touch the job. I don't even think any exist that will yield any true benfit except a thinner wallet.
The spark plugs for the Rotary engine have to meet special requirements, so they do not mess up the rotor and still fire the air fuel mixture, so again I am not sure that will help because there may not be a better one on the market.
Porting the engine, is a common up-grade. But this takes a rotary expert, and has to be sent off to get the job done.
What I don not understand, is this - If my Miata (1990 1.6 120 hp) can take a WRX (at least on our mountain two lane roads), why are you having problems with at least 100 HP more then I have?
I think the answer is else where, and not the car. If it is the car, then it is a maintance problem.
Just go to the RX8 club site and find out what others are doing.
You will find out what I said to begin with, you need lost of money and will need to become a rotary expert.
