Q:

Does anybody know anything about mazda 3's exhaust system?

I was wanting to give my mazda 3 a deep aggressive tone, but I don't really know where to start. A guy at a muffler shop told me to get a high flow catalytic converter and a new muffler. I don't have a clue what kind to buy though. Cost is an issue. I found some on ebay at good prices but I don't know what to buy.

Also, I hear that mazda 3 has two catalytic converters so now I really don't know what to think. Anybody have any ideas or info?

A: if you have the 2.0L motor leave it alone or else it will soud really ricer

now if you have a 2.3L like my wifes car
I just had the rear muffler chopped off and had a 2 1/2 inch pipe and a nice big flush mount tip and sounds so smooth not loud has a deep growl sound to it. She loves the way it sounds. and it only cost $60 for everything so I say try it out then if you dont like it just have the stock muffer back on

watch the link below this guy did a straight pipe from the front but its to load for me... if you only replace the rear muffler like I said you will get this same tone just a little quieter (answered by Mr.NSX on July 03, 2008)

A: To get a deep agressive tone is not easy, particularly from a low cc 4 cylinder car. I got a cat-back exhaust system pretty cheap (440 AUD) fully fitted for my mitsubshi 6 cyclinder (which contains 2 1/4" piping plus a sports muffler). Sounds great.

A little bit of research will tell you whether the 3 has 1 or 2 cat's. I would think it only has 1, but Im not sure. Even then, I dont see how it will make much of a difference if the cats are linked in a serial fashion (as in the gas goes into Cat 1, then Cat 2, then the muffler then out).

Go Ebay only if its a trusted source and you can fit the thing yourself (you'll need welding equipment and good knowledge of how to do it). I would ring up a few places and ask them if they have put a cat-back system on a 3 before. Only if they have will they be able to tell you the ins and outs of doing it. Q:

mazda 3 exhaust system help.?

I have a 2005 mazda 3 S. I was gonna put a glasspack on but I'm being told it's rediculously loud. My friend has a whole exhaust system and I think it sounds cool, but I don't have a ton of money to blow. I'm thinking maybe under 300? Recommendations?
(asked by Andy on June 06, 2009)

A: If your car is still under warranty changing the exhaust will void that warranty. (answered by Lana T on June 06, 2009)

Q:

2004 Mazda 3 exhaust !!?

hey i got a 2004 mazda 3 sedan
i was wondering what CAN I do with the exhaust so it could sound good
i dont got alot of money ..i could spend around 250 the most
thank you all
(asked by Cema on May 24, 2009)

A: For the amount of money you can spend, your best options is to go to a junk yard and pick up a cat-back exhaust from a Mazda 3. It maybe in perfect condition, despite having been wrecked. The other option is to save until you can purchase new. Check out the link below.
