You Ask We Answer

Q:

Is it a bad idea to buy the none turbo mazda 3 and then add a turbo?

The Mazda guy said the transmission and engine block/cylinder sleeves on the speed 3 was all built stronger and more durable to handle the torque/power of a turbo.
Is it cost effective?
(asked by Be responsible towards others on June 05, 2007)

A: Not a bad idea but an expensive one. You just don't add a turbo. There are other things to consider here. Stronger crank and bearings, stronger valve springs, new wiring harness, new computer, new exhaust plumbing lines for the turbo oiling system, different routing system for the serpentine belt and accessories just to mention a few. (answered by Dr. J on June 05, 2007)

A: I'm not familiar with that particular car, but I would say it would be a bad idea. Everything on a turbo car would be a bit stronger - If you can afford it, get a car with a turbo installed by the factory. (answered by Ben O on June 05, 2007)

Q:

mazda 3 turbo?

what all would i need to put a turbo in my mazda 3 2.3L? does anyone know of any place i can get one?
(asked by thisisocho on February 25, 2007)

A: Step 1: Get in your Mazda 3 and drive to your local Mazda dealer
Step 2: Trade in your Mazda 3 for a Mazdaspeed 3

Congratulations, you now have a turbo on your Mazda 3 (and did it the cheapest way possible)! (answered by brad on February 25, 2007)

A: Dont worry about it...you'll still get smoked by all the Evo's STI's and even S2000's running around. -S14

P.S. You should have gotten an SRT-4 (answered by brandon42032 on February 25, 2007)
