On the front passenger seat of a beaten-up brown Mazda Protégé sat a CD case and a pair of roller skates on the floor. Every five or 10 minutes, a car or pickup truck would drive into the lot to drop off someone at a vehicle. It was 4:54 p. m. on a blistering hot summer weekday afternoon and I stood in the midst of about 80 automobiles at the carpool parking lot on Highway 6 in Morriston. Inside a shiny grey Honda Accord, a blue pullover was squished between the two seats and a soccer ball was on the floor. Cars and trucks whizzed past as people rushed to get home from work.

A: There is no best type or brand of rims for any car other then what it came with from the factory. Besides that you need to make sure you buy rims and tires that will fit on your bolts and under your fender. Its up to you to choose between Chrome, Painted, Aluminum or steel. is buying reconditioned rims for my 2005 Mazda 6 a good idea?

I know it is less expensive, but are these rims going to be stable? I just need one and I am trying to decide between new $300 and reconditioned (used) $150

A: Recon'ed wheels are fine....companies like Keystone will only recondition wheels that have cosmetic damage, they won't recondition wheels that have been structurally damage...at least they say they don't.

We use them all the time at the shop with no issues. (answered by on August 31, 2009)
