Green Is the New Black: Mazda Miata Racer Inspires Limited Edition Model

But for Mazda, green is the new black , and the automaker looked to the crazy-hot (and green-hued) MX-5 GT racer for inspiration when it came time to craft its latest special edition line. The closest car buyers – in the U. K. at least – can get to owning one is with the MX-5 Sport Black and Mazda2 Black editions. A product of the Jota Sport British race team , the MX-5 GT was slimmed down to featherweight form at 1783 pounds – an amazing 600 pounds less than its normal 2480 pounds. A black retractable hard-top on the MX-5 and dark gunmetal 17-inch wheels contrast the body, with colors available in a green metallic, white pearlescent, or red mica paint. The interior resembles what most black editions would look like, with black leather seats detailed with sand color stitching. The limited edition treatment offers the MX-5 and Mazda2 with a darker edge and a track-ready appearance.

You Ask We Answer

Q:

will mazda miata wheels interchange with toyota tercel wheels they both have 4 bolt paterns?

The mazda wheels are 15 inch and the tercel has 13 inch
(asked by print_preacher on February 11, 551)

A: I doubt it. The Mazda is RWD and the Toyota is FWD. Its also 2 different manufacturers.

If you really want to know you need to know the bolt pattern and wheel offsets to be sure. (answered by emiller1998 on February 11, 3695)

Q:

2003 Honda Civic & Mazda Miata, Do The Wheels Interchange?

I'm looking to get a 2003 honda civic, I already have a 1990 mazda miata, how do I find out if the wheels will interchange? I've got Katana racing concept 7's on the miata and want to throw those on the civic if at all possible. Any tips hint or answers?
(asked by tenaciousd888 on October 08, 2009)

A: You look up the bolt pattern of both vehicles on google.

If they're the same, they might work.

Or...since you have the wheels in hand, you test fit them on the Civic. (answered by Vipassana on October 08, 2009)

Q:

Mazda Miata Winter Tires/Wheels: 14" vs. 15"?

I just bought a used 2001 Mazda Miata, and I am looking to purchase a winter tire & wheel package. I looked on tirenet and they offered a package with 14inch steel wheels and winter tires for $534 or a 15inch package with alloy wheels and winter tires which comes out to $784. Is there a difference between a 14 or a 15 inch set? Is one safer than the other? Do I need to choose a certain one based on my car or can I pick either? Thanks for your help!
(asked by avaicaitis on February 11, 3359)

A: I would go with the 14" provided they fit over your brake calipers.

Firstly, their cheaper. And for winter you don't need anything fancy...just good tires. Steel wheels and the smaller 14" tires are cheaper to replace.

Second, road salt and sand cause ugly corrosion to allow wheels. So you spend this extra money to have the wheels eaten away.

Third, steel bends whereas allows crack. Should you slide up against a curb a steel wheel can usually be fixed. An allow usually just gets trashed. (answered by cnshinn on February 11, 6016)
