Ever since Mazda introduced its ambitious Sky G gasoline and Sky D diesel engines at the 2009 Tokyo auto show, things have been looking, uh, up.
Cars like the Nissan Primera, Toyota Corolla were hardly sexy but what about Mazda's RX7, RX8 the current 2, 3 and the 6 or models like the Honda CRX , early nineties Prelude, NSX, Nissan Z cars. By PinkyBow I like it but has the Skyactiv diesels cured the dreaded DPF problem with the old diesel. For those without a clue to what I am referring, then just visit a Mazda owners forum. they completely blend in to the scenery and are completely tedious.

A: As long as your oil pressure light isn't going on (assuming it's working) then this is normal.
The oil pump is gear driven by the motor. More RPM means more pressure.
What you're seeing is a real oil pressure guage. Many cars have a fake oil guage that is really just like an idiot light and doesn't show true pressure. If you've never had a real guage you will not be used to seeing the pressure fluctuate. (answered by cnshinn on September 21, 2008)
