Cars like the Nissan Primera, Toyota Corolla were hardly sexy but what about Mazda's RX7, RX8 the current 2, 3 and the 6 or models like the Honda CRX , early nineties Prelude, NSX, Nissan Z cars. By PinkyBow I like it but has the Skyactiv diesels cured the dreaded DPF problem with the old diesel. For those without a clue to what I am referring, then just visit a Mazda owners forum. they completely blend in to the scenery and are completely tedious.
Q:
can you install a blow off valve on a stock 93 mazda rx7 engine?
i wanted to know if its possible to just buy a bov and install it onto a stock 93
mazda rx7 engine without addind tubes,...
and if u can buy
headers for a rotary engine??
if u can where can i buy it?
(asked by ricardo g on February 11, 6019)
A: Yes you can get and install an aftermarket BOV, your best bet is to go ahead and replace both BOV's if you are already going to replace one.
As far as headers go, stay away from aftermarket headers, the stock headers for the RX-7 are already good, the best option is to go with a new exhaust system, i.e. High Flow Cats, with a new cat back exhaust.

A: If your RX7 had a factory
turbo, it has a BOV installed already.

Q:
Can I change my 1979 Mazda Rx7's engine to a 13b rotary? and how much will in cost?
I have a 1987 Rx7.. some of my friends call it the rx7 fb..
I have problems with my current engine it's also a rotary but
its not powerful and it produces lots of white smoke.
I guess there is something wrong with the engine cause it bruning engine oil! I was wondering could I change it to a 13b which is more powerful and can it fit in the fb... and how much will it cost for a 13b engine? and the price to get it all fix..
(asked by hitsugaya h on September 29, 2007)
A: The 13B from the 86-on cars does not fit in the 79-85 cars unless you are prepared to make MAJOR modifications tot he subframe and body. You need the 13B carb engine from a 71-75 model (RX-3 if I recall) which are going to be very hard to find in good running order these days. The other option is the 13B out of a 84-85 GSL-SE model which is fuel injected. Of course you will need the entire harness with it. While you are at it you could take the front suspension and rear axle which has the advantage of better brakes and a limited slip differential. (answered by Mark F on September 29, 2007)
