A white 2005 Mazda RX8 was reported stolen in the 5800 block of Cedar View Place in South County. The vehicle was recovered. A shoplifter stealing electronics was arrested at Target, 4250 Rusty Rd. The stolen items were recovered.
Court on Wednesday to handling stolen goods and failing to surrender after buying the £5,000 Mazda RX8 for £50 between March 6 and May 4 this year. A father-to-be has been put behind bars for two months after buying a stolen car and stripping it to sell the parts on ebay. The homeowner told officers that Halpin-McDonald, who previously lived in Bedford but has since moved to Northampton with his pregnant girlfriend and her five children, had hidden the car in her garage. Officers identified the car as one which was stolen from Shaah Brothers, in Tavistock Street, Bedford, in March. Halpin- McDonald said he purchased the vehicle for £50. The vehicle was found in the garage of a home in Brickhill, Bedford, after police searched the property. Josh Halpin-McDonald, 21, pleaded guilty at Bedford Magistrates&rsquo. The vehicle had been stripped of most items which were found while searching the property. There were two other people who brought the car round to the location.

A: The Rx-8 has a very high compression ratio for boosted applications. On top of that the computer is hard to crack. You can boost cars with high compression but ultimately the renesis's so called advantage in economy and emissions are its biggest road block to producing power.
Side ported exhaust...
The old Rx-7's have WAAAY more potential in power production than the renesis. On top of that the all the seals are optimized for boost in the 13B-REW. The side ported exhaust reduces port overlap, thus improving emmisions and economy. But in a performance engine you want the biggest ports possible without losing intake/exhaust velocity. In a Rotary, the exhaust port can be REALLY BIG.
The largest port possible on a rotary is called a peripheral port. It seals up the side port and bores a huge hole through the end of the rotor housing. ALL Rx-7's (and all rotary cars before it) came from the factory with a peripheral ported exhaust. In order to match the Rx-7's turbo loving exhaust ports, you would have to tear the engine down and send it out to get the exhaust ported. Hands down a turbo Rx-7 (or any Rx-7 for that matter) has a huge advantage over the Rx-8.
On top of that the Rx-7 has a more boost friendly compression ratio making for easier tuning.
I love the new Rx-8s but they just arent quite filling the Rx-7's shoes. And any Rx-8 owner reading this, that thinks otherwise.... You really, seriously need to just ride in a 3rd generation Rx-7. Night and Day, sorry guys but I am telling it how it is, not trying to hate on you.
