Does Mazdaspeed Protege '03 have the same front bumper as a regular Mazda Protege?
Maybe it is not the same form, but is the fit the same?

A: I've heard that all mazdaspeed bumpers are always different (fitment wise), I saw a regular protege with a Mazdaspeed bumper on, the owner said that he had to do some modifications to the bumper, they werent major but it's not a direct fit.
I'm looking to do the same for my mazda6, the mazdaspeed bumper is the hotness. I know for sure it requires some modifications. (answered by OC on August 28, 2007)

A: Mazdaspeed 3.
They only made the Mazdaspeed Protege for 2003 to 2003.5.
They had a 170HP turbo 4 cylinder engine.
0-60mph in 6.9 seconds. They only came with manual transmission.
Top Speed limited to 130mph. That is about the same performance specs for the VW GTI and newer 2006-2009 Honda Civic Si. It is faster than the 2001-2004 Honda Civic Si.
This is the BEST HANDLING FWD SEDAN in the WORLD.
As for tuning, they have many parts, but Mazda was not familar with turbocharging piston engines so the Mazdaspeed Protege engine was not designed for turbocharging, therefore, you would need to replace all the engine internals for the car to handle any major power modifications, such as an extra 40HP.
As for the suspension, nothing needs to be done. You can't make the best handling FWD sedan handle any better.
Only 4500 Mazdaspeed Protege's were ever made.
Now for the Mazdaspeed 3. They only made this car from 2007-2009. And there will be a new version for 2010.
The 2007-2009 Mazdaspeed 3 has a 263HP turbo 4 cylinder engine. This engine is much stronger and could handle lots of extra power with minor modifications. This car is perfect for tuning.
0-60mph in 5.5 seconds. Top Speed at 155mph. Much faster than Civic Si or Acura RSX Type S or VW GTI. (answered by C7S on April 02, 2009)
