While my mom carted me around to all those dance lessons, gymnastic classes and cheerleading practices, the radio was always playing – country music more often than not - in our Mercury Grand Marquis. She often was quizzing me on who was singing and
Multiple charges for Waycross man in Pierce County fatal crash - Florida Times-Union May 19, 2013
Michael Wright, 20, was driving a Ford pickup truck west on US 84 in a heavy rain about 3:10 pm when he struck a Mercury Grand Marquis from behind near Bowen Road and caused it to go into the eastbound lane, state patrol Operator Steve Drury said.
The vehicle is described as possibly a Mercury Grand Marquis. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 23-year-old Kyle Wells of Port Charlotte was walking on the southbound shoulder of Vessels Road and began crossing the street. Anybody who might know the location of the hit and run vehicle is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol at (239) 938-1800. That's when he entered the path of a northbound car and was struck by it. Wells was thrown onto the southbound should by the collision.
Despite two OPEC oil embargoes, rising oil prices and Americans' changing tastes, the large car survives â no thanks to the companies that had once held them up as the ultimate expression of an American car. It was as if there was an assumption that buyers of full-size domestic cars were among the most loyal and would buy any big boat the domestics put out. --> Several years ago, I asked then-GM Vice President Bob Lutz what he thought the prospects were for full-size automobiles, which were once the heart and soul of the American market. Consider GM large cars of several years ago: the Chevrolet Impala, Buick Lucerne and Cadillac DTS. That was an amazing statement from a top executive at an American car company, one whose market share had been slashed through a combination of bad products, disregard for the customer and intense competition. âThe full-size car is dead,â he said. Sadly, in recent years, it seemed as if they held such cars in contempt.
Q:
A: Look at the horsepower to weight ratio. The 3000GT wins that one hands down (a little more HP, a lot less weight). No contest -- the 3000GT would win that race. The only way a Grand Marquis could beat a 3000GT is if the Grand Marquis had a police interceptor engine under the hood. (answered by sarge927 on August 28, 2007)
A: I would bet on the 3000GT every time! (answered by me4tennessee on August 28, 2007)Q:
A: Sounds like the O/D band is gone or the intermediate one-way has failed. Both are common failures with that trans. It will require a trans overhaul or replacemment depending on what you can afford. Pressing the O/D cancel button locks out O/D and the trans will shift 1-2-3 only. You can drive it this way for a while or to get to the trans shop. (answered by sh752 on October 28, 2007)
A: bad transmission (answered by goodmother on October 28, 2007)Q:
A: It's worth about $1000-$1400.
I would offer it at $1400 Or Best offer and take $900 or more. (answered by Stupid Flanders on July 04, 2009)
