– Plenty of people have watched their assets plunge in the last few days, and most of us can only watch helplessly and wish we knew what to do. Head north into the lakes region, and the term plunging assets can take on a whole different meaning. In those parts, it can mean watching your $5,000 Mercury outboard, or your snowmobile, all terrain vehicle or boat plunge to the bottom of a lake.

A: Try the yellow pages or the want advertiser under power boat parts, or ask a merc dealer, they always have a supply of parts, some of the newer parts will still fit the older ones. A lower unit should be very easy to find. (answered by kenbgray on April 09, 2008)

A: On the Yahoo groups I went to "Antique outboards " group and got allot of help and ideas for parts on newer and older outboards. Just join the group ( its free ) and post what you are looking for. A: Go to ebay motors. You can find just about anything on there. I get all kinds of parts there dirt cheep. And check with Walmart or anyone else that carries motorcraft parts, as they are more likely to be able to assist in the matter if ford allows them to carry there stuff.
