Mitsubishi Lancer SE AWD planned for US to help increase overall sales

Instead, the SE will come with a normally aspirated four-cylinder unit, like the Lancer DE and ES variants in the US. Prices for the SE will start at around $US20,000 ($19,900), making it the cheapest all-wheel drive Lancer on offer compared with... Unlike the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and Ralliart editions, the Lancer SE will not showcase a 2. Mitsubishi Motors North America CEO Yoichi Yokozawa said in a recent Automotive News Mitsubishi is currently on track to sell around 73,000 cars by the end of the financial year ending in March. The Lancer is one of the best value cars around and AWD would surely help that image. The Lancer really does need a facelift soon (especially the interior – soft-touch plastics and some colour would be a nice compliment to the excellent dials) and to introduce AWD with that would be an even better idea, especially against the Impreza. So far this year, from January to July, Mitsubishi has sold 52,087 cars. Diesel would be great too Mitsubishi....

Q:

How can I upgrade my 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer ES 4-speed automatic to be like or better than the Evo model?

I have a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer ES with 4-speed automatic transmission. I am very interested in upgradeing my car to be like, if not better than, the Evolution model of this vehicle. Most of the parts I look at imply that they are for the Evolution model. What I want to know is what I would have to do to my car to be able to put in preformance parts such as a turbo, headers, blow off valves, etc. I assume I will have to put in a 5-speed manual tramsmission, is this enough for the types of parts I am interested in? What all do I have to do?
(asked by josht08 on March 06, 2007)

A: It would cost more than a lancer evo to buy all the parts you would need to make your like a evo! Your 2wd has basically the same engine but the internal pats wount handle the horsepower for long, then there is the 4wd issue that will cost you about $15,000 to resolve. Point...............Not worth it......go buy a real evo. (answered by evo741hpr on March 07, 2007)

A: Yes, you can. I saw someone modding a Corolla from 110 whp up to 315 whp.
So can the Lancer do it.
The obstacle you have to go thru is:
1. you are looking for a complete rebuild
2. you are going to void the waranty.
3. its going to end up cost A LOT more than buy an Evo from the dealer.
Swaping from a Auto to manual tranny will alrdy cost you $3,000
and you want to talk about a complete engine rebuild? expect to put around $40,000 to it. + $10,000 for ur car's original value
While an Evo MR only cost $35,000 (answered by steak5959 on March 06, 2007)

Q:

How could i make a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer ES more appealing?

I have a silver 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer ES
how can I make it more appealing?
Add a body kit, new spolier? Any
ideas?
(asked by Jenni on March 10, 2008)

A: To make it more appealing can sometimes mean pushing it too much to the point of ridiculous looking. You gotta be careful what to add on your car. Body kits can look good on other cars but look tacky on others. Just keeping the car clean and shiny can attract one's eye. In my opinion, if you really want to add/change something on your car, start with a set of new rims and tires. Go a little bigger on your rims and a little lower profile on your tires. That change alone can make tons of a difference. Check this website if you decide to replace your wheels and tires. It's really cheap. Free shipping too! www.wheelsnext.com. If you still want to do more changes, you can start from there. (answered by Eddie® on March 11, 2008)

A: Body kits aren't too expensive, but having them installed and painted is. Plus trying to keep them from getting damaged is another thing. A spoiler would make it a little more sporty, plus a carbon fiber hood and new rims. I have a silver 2006 Lancer and am planning to add some performance parts first and then work on the visual appeals. Good luck! (answered by spydersinh on March 10, 2008)

Q:

Does anyone know how much it costs to get the heater and horn fixed in a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer ES?

My horn, my heater, and the knob to turn on the heater do not work properly. I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer ES. It is a front-wheel drive, and has four doors. The engine is a 4-cyclinder engine. I do not really know how many miles is on the car. Does anyone know about how much it will cost to get all this fixed? Also, is it illegal to go without your horn?
(asked by Debra C on December 27, 2008)

A: This all depends on the shops around where you live. Call around to a few of them and see. They may need to take a look to see exactly what is going on. Just because your horn doesn't work that doesn't mean that the horn needs to be replaced. Somethings are fixable without parts. (answered by cars101282 on December 27, 2008)
