Hungry For Sales, Mitsubishi Expands AWD Lancer Offerings

In 2011, buying an all-wheel-drive Mitsubishi Lancer required you to purchase either the high-performance 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution or its slightly detuned stable mate, the 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart. The price of admission for either all-wheel-drive Lancer was steep, too, since the less expensive Lancer Ralliart started at just under $28,500 before options were added. s starting price of around $16,000, and Mitsubishi knows that it's losing sales because of it. For 2012, the Japanese automaker is adding a new SE model to the Lancer product line , and the car will feature all-wheel drive at a sticker price of... s quite a stretch from the base Lancer&rsquo. t buy a turbocharged engine or sport suspension, but it will give those looking for an all-wheel-drive compact sedan an alternative to Subaru and Suzuki.

Q:

How does the automatic feature work in the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart work??

Ive been reading things about the 09 Lancer Ralliart and it says it has the TC-SST transmission that operates in fully automatic modes for Normal and Sport driving conditions. How does this compare to a regular Automatic car...is it the same?(just put it into drive and go)...How does Twin Clutch-SST work?? im asking because my brother is getting one and i only know how to drive automatic...thank you!! :)
(asked by alex on February 11, 9241)

A: The twin clutch system is actually awesome. As the name implies, the car has two clutches. The onboard computer does a lot of the work for you. In a regular automatic system, as your car accelerates and changes gears, you can actually feel the gears change. In a twin clutch system, the gears are divided into odd and even gears. The odd gears have one clutch and so does the even gears. As gears change from odd to even or vice versa one clutch disengages as the other engages in one seamless fashion. In doing so, gear changes are barely felt. Like I said, the computer does a lot of the work. If you're familiar with the sportronic transmission, it's pretty much the same but better...so much better!!!

P.S. Sportronic transmission can work as a full automatic or manual auto. The driver can manually change gears by sliding the shifter to the right (or left) on "drive" mode. This will allow you to manually shift the car.

Q:

Is 2009 mitsubishi lancer ralliart a good car to buy,..?

I'm planning on buying a lancer ralliart 2009,.. Is it a good car,..?? and do u think it will have like high maintenance costs,..??
(asked by asakura on November 07, 2008)

A: Yes ! It is an A1+ Motor Car ! The maintenance costs should be REASONABLE ! IF it was a 2nd Hand Motor Car I would say be VERY CAREFUL when CONSIDERING it as a PROSPECTIVE PURCHASE as it may have been subject to SERIOUS ABUSE e.g. 'Boy Racer' Style Driving ! Q:

What do you think of the mitsubishi lancer ralliart?

How's the interior, quality, acceleration?
(asked by D quick on June 12, 2009)

A: It is a nice high performance car but Mitsubishi is not a very popular car in America. I would much prefer a Toyota Camry or Honda Accord. (answered by on June 14, 2009)
