Narcotics arrest in New Haven
The Tactical Narcotics Units had patrol officers stop a 2000 Nissan Maxima on Ella Grasso Boulevard after viewing surveillance footage that determined the driver was selling drugs while behind the wheel. Marcus Wearing, 23, of 17 Kilborn St. in West Haven threw a ziploc bag with three ounces of cocaine out the window before the vehicle was stopped for New Haven Police. The driver Nicolas Cole, 27, of 62 Treat St. in West Haven pulled over after the bag was thrown from the vehicle. Both Wearing and Cole are charged with possession with intent to sell along with other related charges. (WTNH) - Drug dealers have been caught on camera by New Haven Police. NEW HAVEN, Conn. A: Do not get the flush. Get the transmission service which is the same price - About $100. That's where they drop the pan and change the filter. That is all you need for the next 30,000 miles. This also changes more than half the fluid in the transmission.
A question for you... Are you having troubles with your transmission? You can check the condition of the fluid by pulling the dipstick which is red at the handle. The condition of the fluid should be red and not dripping like water because transmission fluid wears down and gets thinner and doesn't lubricate as well. Also, make sure the level is right. I have a '95, same drivetrain and the level was a little higher than it was supposed to be. If you don't know how to check the level, read your manual or get someone else to make sure it is right.
If you're getting this vehicle used, get the drop pan service. It certainly won't hurt anything and if you have had this vehicle for more than 30,000 miles, it's recomended maintenance.
Make sure the correct fluid is used also - Dexron-III (answered by Sexy Ray on February 23, 2008)
A: Depends on what manufacturers specifications say, probably. Otherwise, its probably just an attempt to sell you an unnecessary service.

Engine has been overheated and is making sounds 2000 nissan maxima?
I bought a 2000 nissan maxima that had been previously overheated and it makes a small knocking sound when i hit the throttle but ONLY when im applying gas. a few people have said it might be the heads, or the intake manifold. i just really want to get rid of this ANNOYING sound. can anybody help me out with some info ? ?

A: If it overheated as you said, that's probably why they sold the car. The engine is toast. I'd look into a good used engine and have it installed, be sure to get a warranty. (answered by Will S on April 02, 2008)
