Powell triumphs over tyres

The American-built Jimco, with a turbo-charged Nissan 350Z engine, was fast enough and strong enough to surge from eighth on the start grid to win the final South Island regional round of the Mickey Thompson New Zealand Offroad Racing Championship... Powell, a former national offroad racing champion, has spent part of 2011 in the United States racing and searching for a new race car. It was a race that would be decided by tyres: each of the top contenders was slowed by flat tyres, and Powell crossed the line with a tyre shredded in two.

Q:

Nissan 350z turbo?

I want a turbo kit for my nismo 35z but i dont know what brand i should go with....or where to order from. help plz.
(asked by RÆGE on March 31, 2008)

A: Keep in mind that more than 7 psi boost your going to have to lower your compression that means motor rebuild. Most single turbo systems can use the stock compression. Adding boost opens another can of worms more fuel larger injectors intercoolers and oil coolers and electronic boost controllers. Nismo Z was rare enough to become a classic if you can keep the front and rear bumpercovers and spoilers from being curb dammaged. (answered by on March 31, 2008)

A: isn't that car fast enough?
have fun.
your insurance is gonna go higher. if they find out you have turbo (answered by scott r on March 31, 2008)

Q:

What is a better nissan 350z or a 300zx twin turbo?

what would you rather have and which on is better on a track?
(asked by yousofsgtos on August 14, 2007)

A: Well, for your budget, the 300zx is cheaper, and has that old school look to it, which is badass, cause it looks like a crocidile. Anyway, if you are a racer the 350z already comes equiped ith nice features, like abs and Tbs. In terms of power, at a straight away, the 350z has better acceleration. In terms of shear power, the 300zx. Handling and braking are better on the 300zx, even tho it is an old car, it handles suprisingly well. The factory tires on the 300zx are crap, so if you are going to invest in a 300zx, make sure to change the tires if they have not yet been changed. The 350z is roomier, while the 300zx is more cramped.

But, all in all, it's whether which one suits you, and when it comes down to everything, it's the driving that matters the most.
Hope this helps. (answered by Drexul_Slum on August 14, 2007)
