Most Popular Pickup in China Offers Strong Value - PickupTrucks.com February 11, 2012

The first pic is an interesting blend of the Amarok, mixed with the "jet puffed marshmallow" look of the US tundra, and maybe a little Nissan frontier/xterra body work for good measure. Does anyone concur or am I way off base here?

Suzuki Equator - Calgary Herald February 11, 2012

We're about to spill two secrets. No. 1: Suzuki has a pickup truck that's available in Canada. No. 2: It's based on the Nissan Frontier. Suzuki's Equator hit showrooms in 2009, equal to the Frontier in many ways except styling and price.

2012 Toyota Tacoma preview: Price is (mostly) right, seating is not - Toronto Star February 11, 2012

About the only current compacts soldiering on are Nissan's Frontier (the Equator, a Suzuki-badged version of it, never got off the ground) and Honda's front-wheel-biased, unibody Ridgeline. Changes to the 2012 Tacoma are in trim.

100% Electric Nissan Leaf™ takes historic Pikes Peak win

"With the instant torque from the electric motor we were able to jump out of the many slow corners and the performance was very consistent from the bottom to the top since the electric motor wasn't affected by the high altitude near the summit... The thin air also robs internal combustion engines of up to 30% of their power at the summit but the Nissan LEAF's was great fun to drive up the mountain" said Hord. Was virtually stock except for interior safety modifications and more aggressive wheels and tires, it out ran several competitors with highly modified internal combustion engines. As the drivers climb toward the summit, the thin air slows reflexes and saps muscle strength.

Q:

Nissan Titan wheels fit on a Nissan Frontier?

I have a chance to buy a nice set of wheels off of a nissan titan and I am not sure if they will fit my 05 Nissan frontier, does anybody know for sure? Thanks!
(asked by Devin G on February 11, 747)

A: technically they will fit, bet they will not bolt up. you will need custom spacers. the titan bolt pattern is not the same as the 05 -07 frontier. however, the frontier shares it's bolt pattern with the 05- current xterra, 05- current pathfinder, and some dodge trucks. Q:

nissan frontier crew cab driving down the fwy and both back wheels start hoppin up n down, whats up with that?

i know it aint the front spoiler cause we mounted it on the side of shastadia's gremlen so he could pretend he's an outlaw champ when he gets off the russel buss
(asked by gluton on January 10, 2007)

A: Could be a few things.

It's lost some wheel balance weights,
or Tires have busted some belts,,
Or,,Shock Absorbers have gone bad.
Could be a bent rim,,,but not very likely--that usually doesnt cause much Hop,,,more of a quesy-feeling wobble.

Least Probable,,,but possible,,,could be a bent axle,,,or a badly worn or damaged wheel/axle bearing.
RARE but it happens.

It's somewhat rare to have Both doing it ,,,but a bad oscillation on one side definitely can transfer thru axle to other side and cause a sorta sympathetic hop.
Especially if the vehicle happens to have an anti-sway bar.

Whatever the cause happens to do,,,any of the conditions which Cause it should be considered Hazardous,,, Beyond the symptoms of just the hop itself.
It's an indication of a more serious problem.

And just the hop itself can possible cause problems in certain driving conditions.

Unless you happen to be pretty well mechanically competent,,
I'd suggest taking it to a good shop .
Lots of the possibilities can be difficult to spot for even Good Auto Technicians.

You can look yourself and see if there's any obvious Bulges on the back tires,,, and look to see if it has Any balance weights clipped to the Rim at all,,,Cant Tell much if it has Some,,,if it has NONE--thats a Clue.
Look for a Shock thats broken and hanging .

One OTHER "Dumb Simple" thing......
Driven in any Mud lately??
Or,,,if You're in snow/Ice country....

You COULD have a big blob of Mud or Snow/Ice stuck to inside of a rear wheel rim.

Not INSIDE-Inside,,I mean Inside>Behind,,,LOL

That's almost like a "Shelf" on many wheels,,,and even a LITTLE gets held there by centriful force,,,and can cause a Bad hop

In Cold enough areas,,,ice can stay there for days I 'spose.

Craziest "Ice Story">Wheel Hop Problem I ever saw,,,,was a Friend who lived in Houston.
This guy was a very experienced proffesional mechanic from a long family line of mechanics,,and was born&raised in Chicago

He would Drive to Chicago Several times a year to visit family.
Car was fine All the way up there---then it would start hopping like crazy,,,then it would quit and act perfect.
It was fine all the way home,, and for several months.

Next Trip,,did the same hopping thing

Big puzzle for a while,,,he made 2 trips and exact same thing happened.
So he decided to just change the tires,,,figuring it was some kinda defect or problem that appeared only in the cold weather.

It Was,,,,,sorta.
It had about 2 Cups of WATER in it that would freeze in Bottom of Tire when he parked it overnite.
I guess it would melt or break-up after driving a while.
And down South it would Never happen at all.

We figured it had to come from condensation in the air compressor used to put air in the tires at some point in their life.

Had to laff at ourselves,,,cuz that possibility was farthest thing from our minds.
And felt Really dumb when the water came pouring out.

Anyway,,,Ice/Snow or Mud clinging to a wheel can sure make em hop.

Good Luck,,,hope it's nothing too serious (answered by TXm42 on January 10, 2007)

A: Did you just hit a bump? Bad shocks, worn springs, maybe.

Are you sure it isn't just one tire? This would be a tire problem, like balancing. It is unlikely that both rear tires would go out of balance at the same time, though, unless you have hit a curb or something recently. (answered by J.R. on January 10, 2007)

Q:

How is a free-wheel lubricated in a 4x4 Nissan frontier?

I am having a "click click noise" on the front wheels on a 4x4 frontier. I lifted the car and spinned the wheels and the click started, so I suppose it needs lubrication (grease). anybody has had this problem before? How do you lubricate a free-wheel device.
(asked by Nicasio1 on September 09, 2008)

A: I guess it would depend on the model year of the Frontier. It may have a sealed hub and bearing assembly in which case you can only replace and is not serviceable. The you may want to remove the wheel and spin the rotor to see if there is anything touching the rotor. (answered by dr_layne on September 09, 2008)
