Q:
A: OK, everyone who said "look on the tire", you have no right to post answers here. Tire inflation is a safety issue and you got it wrong. Stop guessing. The only information listed on the tire sidewall is the "Max Inflation Pressure..." That is even what it says, "Max Inflation". Notice it does not say anywhere "recommended inflation." How could it? The tire manufacturer doesn't know if your mounting this tire on a Ford Explorer, or a Nissan Pickup, or a full-size van or an old Cadillac. All will have very different inflation requirements but all take the same size tire.
To the gentleman who said recommended tire pressure will vary depending on what kind of tire it was, you are also wrong. The only thing that matters is the size. All tires of the same size, irregardless of manufacturer or model will have the same inflation requirements when mounted on the same vehicle.
The correct inflation pressure for a tire of the original specified size and service rating is found on the vehicle information tag inside the drivers side door frame or on the inside of the glovebox door. Those people who answered that way can pat themselves on the back. If for some reason you can not locate this information I can tell you what the pressures should be but since there are a bunch of possible tire sizes for that year of Nissan pickup you'll have to figure out which applies to yours:
If your tires are size "P215/70R14 96S" then use 35 psi front and rear. Again, it does not matter what brand the tire is. all tires of that size no matter what the manufacter have the same inflation requirements on this vehicle.
If your tires are "P235/75R15 105S" you should also run 35 psi front and rear.
If your tires are "LT31x10.50R15 Load C" then run 26 psi front and rear.
If your tires are "LT195/75R14 Load B" then run 26 psi front, 36 psi rear. This is a very rare size.
If your tires are "P195/75R14 92S" then your back to 35 psi front and rear.
Over-inflating a tire beyond what Nissan recommends can be dangerous as it can reduce cornering traction and braking performance, upset the vehicles emergency handling characteristics, cause uneven tire wear and reduced tire life and make the tires more susceptible to damage from road hazards such as pot holes.
