Q:

1996 Oldsmobile 98 Regency Elite V6 3.8?

I have a (1996 Oldsmobile 98 Regency Elite V6 3.8) and the air conditioner is not blowing correctly the mechanic I took it to says that the part that is needed is for the air conditioner "Distribution Box" or "A/C Programmer" but I can't find either one of these anywhere? are either real parts or am I not calling them the right thing (VIN# 1G3CX52K1T4311941)
(asked by barry c on October 16, 2007)

A: it's called an AC programmer... call a dealership parts dept.... It's located on top of the heater box, behind the glove box... make sure it has vacuum because alot of times that is why they don't work. (answered by Family on October 16, 2007)

A: i'm not sure about the parts but number one rule of information sharing on the internet is dont give specifc info such as the entire vin # of your car. thats how things get stollen. just helping to protect you. i suggest taking that part out. people can answer the question without knowing that info it just means they have to know the type of car is all. Q:

Replacing a belt on an Oldsmobile?

How much should a mechanic shop charge for replacing a belt on a 1996 98 Oldsmobile? Has the Serpentine Belt
(asked by big_g9846 on February 11, 1372)

A: We charge a minimum of .5 hrs for a serpentine belt. Our shop rate is $88.00 per hour. So I would quote you $44.00 plus the price of the belt (which can range from 20.00 to 50.00 depending on aplication).
Expect to between 65.00 to 100.00 bucks after taxes depending on the aplication, your location and your local shop rates.
Sounds high to some people but it costs money to keep a shop open and mechanics have to earn a living too.
Hope this helps. (answered by on February 11, 3068)

Q:

Will a 1995-2004 Upper intake manifold 3.8 3800 work for my 1995 Oldsmobile 88 Royale? Read the rest...?

I have a 1995 Oldsmobile 88 Royale 3800 series 3.8 thats needs a new replaced Upper intake manifold. I recently bought a 3.8 3800 intake manifold for a year 1995-2004 and in the description from the seller it says its for the make and models of 1995 1996 1997 1998 1999 oldsmobile delta 88, 1995 1996 oldsmobile 98 Regency and a 1998 1999 oldsmobile Intrigue. I have a oldsmobile 88 royale tho which it didnt say but i looked at the part under my hood and the part i bought under that description and it looks like the same exact part so i took it to the shop where im getting my car fixed and the man said yea it looks like the right piece as long as it is a 3.8 3800 intake manifold it should work... Will it /should it??
(asked by B M on February 11, 7919)

A: I believe the change over for the 3800 motor was in 94. Its good you ask this question though cause the intake was a big part of what was changed. Im pretty sure you've got what you need. (answered by guitcarman1 on February 11, 8538)
