Plaintiff admits to drunk driving in trial under way against Madison County ...

Defense attorney John Gilbert asked the plaintiff in a lawsuit against the Madison County Sheriff's Department if she was driving drunk the night she was arrested. "Correct, one day of work," Baker replied. Plaintiff Kelsi Baker, who was 20 years old at the time, admitted she was driving drunk. She is suing the Sheriff's Department and two deputies claiming they used excessive force by applying a taser while she was arrested in Alton on Feb. "I think you testified that you have some scars where the tasers hit you," Gilbert said. Baker, a mother and a chef, took the witness stand Thursday in Madison County Circuit Judge David Hylla's courtroom. "You do acknowledge that you were driving drunk. " Gilbert asked. " Gilbert said. Baker also names deputies "You only missed one day of work. "Correct," she replied.

Jury will decide if deputies used excessive force in woman's arrest

Jurors in Madison County Circuit Judge David Hylla's court will decide this week if deputies from the Madison County Sheriff's department used excessive force when they arrested a 20-year-old Macoupin County woman six years ago after suspecting... Opening arguments started Tuesday in Kelsi Baker's case against the Madison County Sheriff's Department for using a taser on her when she was found in an Alton man's driveway at 1:42 a. m. on Feb. Baker is suing the sheriff's department and deputies Jeremy Stumpf and Stewart Stiverson for more than $50,000 after they allegedly tased her no less than 10 times during her arrest. She has flashbacks of screaming, being in pain, difficulty concentrating and is afraid to go anywhere police officers might be, Fenlon said during opening arguments Tuesday.

Q:

Has anyone had a problem with their Oldsmobile Alero engine over-revving?

I have a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero and just recently the engine started over-revving and now I can smell burning under the hood but I can't figure out where the smell is coming from and my instrument panel is not showing any problems.

Q:

How to reset service engine light in oldsmobile alero?

I heard there are sometime codes you can use to reset the service engine light? It's like a 2001 I think. There is nothing wrong with the engine the lights get messed up and will always come on. Thanks!
(asked by xoxo on July 16, 2009)

A: No u don't use codes. The service engine light comes on when the computer detects something is wrong or not working correctly. It could be many things or one thing, it could be major or minor.
Take it to auto zone, advance auto parts, o'riley's or just about any parts store. Tell them your service engine light is on and they will use a scan tool and pull the codes. That means they will tap into the computer and see what the codes are and the codes tell them what is wrong. They can then tell you what the problem(s) are and the fixes. They can also clear out the codes and turn off the light. That's all free so no reason not to do it. But it will only come back on as soon as the computer checks and finds a problem. (answered by A man on July 16, 2009)

A: An OBD II code reader usually has a reset function if you want trouble codes erased. Trouble codes can also be erased by disconnecting the battery or removing the main fuse fow a short time then putting it back- but before you do that make sure there are no security devices needing to be reset with a secret code. The trouble indicator light will come on when there is a problem. Diagnose that before you assume there is just a light coming on that doesn't mean anything. The light means something is wrong. Q:

What other engine will work for a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero?

I need a new engine in my Alero. It has a 3400. It is a 6 cylinder. I want everything to be able to hook back up without any major rearranging. I need it to fit on the engine block/mount. I do not want to get another block/mount. What other year, make and model will work for my car?
(asked by Mz. Kelly on October 23, 2009)

A: The Pontiac Grand Am is it's sister. The engine should drop right in. Look for a 1999 or newer. There may have been some minor changes starting in 2002. There was a lot of these cars produced, I would think used engines would easily be available. (answered by doane_nut on October 23, 2009)
