"Voltgate" Raises the Question: Has GM Really Changed? - MotorTrend Magazine (blog) October 15, 2010
Take the Pontiac Grand Am and Oldsmobile Alero. I once asked someone at Pontiac what, under the skin, made the Grand Am different from the Alero.
Defense attorney John Gilbert asked the plaintiff in a lawsuit against the Madison County Sheriff's Department if she was driving drunk the night she was arrested. "Correct, one day of work," Baker replied. Plaintiff Kelsi Baker, who was 20 years old at the time, admitted she was driving drunk. She is suing the Sheriff's Department and two deputies claiming they used excessive force by applying a taser while she was arrested in Alton on Feb. "I think you testified that you have some scars where the tasers hit you," Gilbert said. Baker, a mother and a chef, took the witness stand Thursday in Madison County Circuit Judge David Hylla's courtroom. "You do acknowledge that you were driving drunk. " Gilbert asked. " Gilbert said. Baker also names deputies "You only missed one day of work. "Correct," she replied.
Jurors in Madison County Circuit Judge David Hylla's court will decide this week if deputies from the Madison County Sheriff's department used excessive force when they arrested a 20-year-old Macoupin County woman six years ago after suspecting... Opening arguments started Tuesday in Kelsi Baker's case against the Madison County Sheriff's Department for using a taser on her when she was found in an Alton man's driveway at 1:42 a. m. on Feb. Baker is suing the sheriff's department and deputies Jeremy Stumpf and Stewart Stiverson for more than $50,000 after they allegedly tased her no less than 10 times during her arrest. She has flashbacks of screaming, being in pain, difficulty concentrating and is afraid to go anywhere police officers might be, Fenlon said during opening arguments Tuesday.

Q:
A: No u don't use codes. The service engine light comes on when the computer detects something is wrong or not working correctly. It could be many things or one thing, it could be major or minor.
Take it to auto zone, advance auto parts, o'riley's or just about any parts store. Tell them your service engine light is on and they will use a scan tool and pull the codes. That means they will tap into the computer and see what the codes are and the codes tell them what is wrong. They can then tell you what the problem(s) are and the fixes. They can also clear out the codes and turn off the light. That's all free so no reason not to do it. But it will only come back on as soon as the computer checks and finds a problem. Q:
A: The Pontiac Grand Am is it's sister. The engine should drop right in. Look for a 1999 or newer. There may have been some minor changes starting in 2002. There was a lot of these cars produced, I would think used engines would easily be available. (answered by doane_nut on October 23, 2009)
