My boyfriend has a 1974 Opel Manta with original 70k miles on it. Its in wonderful condition. He got if from his grandmother and has had it for years. We were thinking about selling it because money is getting tight. How much do you think something like this would go for? We have no idea!!

A: you should get a couple of grand at least. try the classic sales sites online to get an average and add a few extra quid on the sale price because of the low mileage.

Q:

Which disks can be used on an Opel Manta to replace the drums?

I have an Opel Manta and wish to change the front drums to disks. I need to know which hubs would be suitable for the vehicle. Would i need to do any serious mods to get the disks on the front?

I also have a problem with the back drums they lock up all the time would it just be the need to change the drums on the back.

A: To be honest I couldn't answer 100% but I believe the cavalier was based around the manta, in which case the disc brakes setup off of one of the early models would probably fit with little modification.

I looked through quickly and they seem to know what theyre talking about.
If the back drums are locking on it could be the drums or a problem with the break line. but the drums would be a good place to start. (answered by Blue on April 11, 2007)

By more successful, I mean in sales. I was a big fan of the Opel, which, in my humble opinion, was a far better car.

A: Pure and simple, i'm from Australia where as holden has carried on the Opels and marketed them out here Astra's Vectra's and Barina's which are Corsa's over in Europe. Where the smaller Fords have done alot better in sales over here compared to the Euro trash imports we get over here. Pure and simple Americans hate Europeans anything European besides German is seen as shite!!!!
