A 1932 Packard originally owned by actor and singer Al Jolson led the field Saturday as an auction of collectible cars in Plymouth Township generated more than $7. The Packard Twin Six convertible, one of only two made, fetched $1. 1 million from an undisclosed buyer, according to RM Auctions, which ran the auction, one of many events surrounding Sunday's Concours d'Elegance of America. “We are very pleased with the results from our St. John's sale this weekend,” said Gerry Hockin, RM's chief operating officer, in a press release. The live auction at The Inn at St. John's included in-person bidders and others submitting bids by phone.

Q:
A: Trading in "collector" cars is tricky business. It's really only worth whatever someone is willing to pay.
On Ebay, they expect to get a $5,000 car for $800. I have seen cars worth way more that their highest bid. Of course they usually don't let them go for that, but it's almost like they are fishing. Yes they know it's worth x number of dollars, but I'll only go this little amount. Maybe they hope you are hard up or something.
Unique cars don't need to be ebay'd. Try "CCTOL.com" or others. (answered by Curious on February 10, 714)
