DeLorean to appear at show ski tourney today

Tanko today is participating as the Rock Aqua Jays compete for their 16th title at the 2011 U. S. National Show Ski Tournament on the Rock River at Traxler Park in Janesville. Today’s show will include Tanko’s 1981 DeLorean, the model famous for—among other things—its role as a time machine in the 1985 movie “Back to the Future. — Where Greg Tanko is going, they don’t need roads. The movie also is the source of the “don’t need roads” line, in case you weren’t a child of the ’80s. Tanko’s DeLorean is No. 2,384 of fewer than 9,000 produced. Tanko retired in 2003 after teaching for 34 years. ” That’s the theme of the Aqua Jays’ show this summer as the team celebrates 50 years. between 1981 and 1983. They mostly use rivers or lakes.

You Ask We Answer

Q:

What are the differences between a 2005 Pontiac GTO and the 2006 Pontiac GTO (other than year)?

What are the differences between the 2005 Pontiac GTO and the 2006 Pontiac GTO, obviously other than year and price?
(asked by bruins682001 on April 21, 2007)

A: Its a carry over from what I know.

The 2004-2005 changes was going from a LS1(350hp) to a LS2(400hp). And they added a couple of colors. (answered by Jake on April 21, 2007)

Q:

Will a 2005 Pontiac GTO be worth something in a few years?

I know they only made these cars for 3 years. Do you think the 6.0L LS2 versions will be worth holding onto?
(asked by BOB on September 08, 2008)

A: as long as you take care of it and don't put many miles its value shouldn't depreciate as much as a car with many miles that hasn't been taken care of. Now if you want to keep it and hopefully in the future it will be a classic car that everyone wants and its value tripples, depends to the one who wants it. if I were you i'd sell it to me :) (answered by jose g on September 08, 2008)

Q:

How well would you say a 2005 Pontiac GTO would hold its value?

Let's just say in three years from now. 6 speed of course : )

(asked by BOB on September 18, 2008)

A: I assume you are asking the depreciation of an '05 purchased now used. If the miles are average...

I anticipate that it would track about average depreciation rate of 7% per year. If you purchased a 2005 GTO for about $18,000 today (msrp was about 33) that would put an estimated value at about $14,500 in three years. (answered by Cavu on September 18, 2008)
