Holland racer's long history with car pays off in demolition derby win at ...

McCartney pocketed $550 for the first-place trophy, bashing his way through the other drivers in his beloved 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Supercharger. HOLLAND — Racing in a car he has owned and rebuilt many times over since 1997, Holland’s Nick McCartney grabbed his first feature win at the Unique Motor Sports Off Road Demo Derby Monday at the Ottawa County Fair. I have a lot of work into this car,” said McCartney, who does landscaping and snow removal by day and off road demo derby racing by night. “It’s been around for quite a while and I’ve been a lot of places with it. It’s taken me across country and back, and now has taken me through racing. “I bought this car when it was less than six months old with 42,000 miles on it and paid $25,000.

Q:

Stock exhaust size 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT, for fitting of different tips?

I am just wondering if anyone knows the stock exhaust tip size for a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. I am looking to buy some aftermarket tips to set off the back end of the car, and I believe the size is 2.25" but not certain. If anyone can confirm this, or know the size that would be GREAT!

Thanks!

A: Depending on where you live, you can just do straight pipe and eliminate your resonator and mufflers all together, go on youtube you'll find lots of videos of different setups. Its amazing what just removing your resonators will do to the GP. if you got some cash, get an aggressive cam after you do the resonator delete and you can get a SEXY gargle :)

Heres a vid I just found of a GP stock exhaust. The mods he has wont change the sound at all:

heres vid of GT with straight pipe (as I mentioned) no resonator no muffler:
