And through the years, he's been working on finding every last detail he can about his 65 Lemans. A day at the office is a day off Kevin Franzem of St. Clair Shores likes to bring his work home with him. And because he doesn't know how to do a lot of detail body work, he had to find others to help him restore this classic car. "I had to strip away the sticker in the trunk to find the original paint color," he said, which he learned was called "Irish Mist Purple. Since then, the convertible has become a labor of love to restore it to its original condition. "Even before it was done, I would bring it out to the Cruise," he said. Using online search engines and tools like a VIN decoder, he can piece together some of the car's history.
