Q:

Getting a Scion xD and modding it...?

OK, so I am getting a Scion xD... if I take it to the dealer with these mods added to it:

Pioneer Premium Audio System
4-n-1 light kit with cup holder
Rear Spoiler

Shouldn't it be 'pure priced' and they order it that way so it should be how much it costs on the website right? Or should I add modifications to it after I get the vehicle.
(asked by Cole on June 20, 2008)

A: Everything that the dealer sells is overpriced. You'd be much better off spending time on a Scion forum, and getting the same items at a lower price, or sometimes even the wholesale price.

If I could go back in time, I would never have bought the mods I did from the dealer.

#1, they were too expensive, and I could have saved a lot of money

#2, I ended up selling it all a year or two later as everyone else had the same exact mods and my car wasn't as unique as I wanted... (answered by PrestigeRacing.net on June 24, 2008)

A: Either way it will cost the same. If you order it from factory it will take 4-6 months. Dealer may find one with these options and dealer trade for it or more likely get one close and add options at dealer. In the end it will cost same as Scion does have pure pricing or dealer could lose franchise. If they dealer trade it may cost 3-400 for getting it as this is a dealer expense that is for getting quickly as possible for you. (answered by 12pleze on June 20, 2008)

Q:

Scion xD Special Release?

Hi, I am getting a scion xD. (I probably would get the xB... the more I look at it the more I like it... very strange. But I am choosing the xD since it is cheaper and better gas mileage.)

Anyway, eventually I want to add the 5axis body kit, a spoiler end. That in it self is almost 2000 dollars. And then I realized I should just buy the limited edition scion xD (hot lava). You think I shold get the limited edition (I have one coming inbeing held for me as I already put 500 down) or instead buy the basic one.

I will be spending 20k (rounded up) unless I buy the basic one, which is 18k. This includes everything, liscense, title, and such. Should I spend the extra 2k now, and get a cool color, DAMD body kit, and all the stuff I want o add eventually on the basic car?
That doesn't answer my question. Do you think it's WORTH it to buy the special edition or just get the basic and mod it myself?

Also, will the special edition have a better resale value then basic?
(asked by Cole on June 23, 2008)

A: The release series has been a bit of a sore spot among Scion owners. Scion has continually decreased the "unique" factor of the rs.

While having an rs model makes you one of 2,000 (give or take), if you start to get active in the Scion community, you're going to find that there are other things you could have bought and made your xD stand out even further. Best of all, the xD is brand new, so there are lots of opportunities to get free products because companies will need to see how they fit on cars in real life driving situations.

Also, the color is not unique as one of the rs xB's was originally hot lava.

For 2k, you can have a WAY more unique xD than you would from the factory. We recommend checking out some scion forums and seeing what options you have first.

A: Yes they do have a special release XD -2008--- it a orange color---and has trd spring to make the car lower plus has body kit and spoiler on the back (answered by blazz769 on June 23, 2008)

Q:

Where can I find a mid-hatch spoiler?

I am strongly considering purchasing a Scion xD, and have seen pics of custom ones with a mid-hatch spoiler/wing. Some ppl suggested getting a Honda Civic Hatchback mid hatch spoiler, and putting that on. But, with so many years and generations of civic hatchbacks.....which one would work best? And, where can I find one? And, where do I take the car and spoiler so that they can be put together?

thanks

A: try Corsport.com or TTL.com Its really easy to install no point on giving away your money. (answered by Mr. S on September 17, 2009)
