Madagascar duo wins Kobil Rally

Rally was good and our car was also good with no major mechanical problem. The Subaru Impreza drivers become the first-ever set of competitors from Madagascar to win a round of FIA-sanctioned series in the African Continent since making their debut in the competition at the beginning of last season. Anarivelo Jean Yves and Ranaivamampianini are the Kobil Rally of Tanzania champions after winning the sixth round of the 2011 African Rally Championship in Dar es Salaam yesterday. I am over excited and very happy to win my first-ever ARC rally. His victory in one of the most famous rounds of the ARC series overshadowed the anticipated battle between Zimbabwe&rsquo. s Jamie Whyte and his compatriot Conrad Rautenbach, whose interest in the chase for ARC title was the focal point of the competition. But it was scary at times to find motor bikes on the roads at speeds of 190kph,&rsquo.

You Ask We Answer

Q:

I need a car, A$25-30k, leather seat/5d hatch. Do I buy new car ie Subaru Impreza or used ie an Alpha or BMW?

I need to buy a new car and I want to spend A$25-30 on it. I don't know if I'm better off with an European luxury car that's 2-3 years old or a brand new Japanese car for the same money. I would like to keep it for at least 5 years, for it to be reliable and fuss free and not spend too much money on maintainence during this time. I'm not fussy with the make but it does have to be a hatch and have leather seats because of the family dog and the work I do. I like the 2007 luxury edition Subaru Impreza and the 2004 Alpha 147 but I really don't know! It's for mostly city driving with the odd short country trip. Advice needed!! Thanks

A: Their all good cars. If you go brand new you get warranty and dont have to worry about maintenance. Even a use BWM wont give you problems but can be costly if you encounter problems. Check out the 07 Audi A3 2.0T. Its good on gas, has leather seats and is a 5door hatch. Go to Autotrader.com and when you search, you can simplify your search by trim. Good luck and happy car hunting. (answered by JaYjAy on April 22, 2007)

A: good question (answered by Bocafan11 on April 22, 2007)

Q:

What is an overall better car. a Subaru Impreza 97 or a 99 VW Golf?

impreza is "L" awd and golf is a wolfsburg edition, both automatic trans, both have 160k miles and both are in perfect working conditions, passed smog, same price, great inside. id also like to know which one is quicker.
which one would u rather have?
(asked by Jello on February 11, 2146)

A: The Subaru is probably quicker. But then again both engines well maintained will go 250K plus, I would look at the brake pedal on each, the one with less wear, means the driver was easier on it.

Personally, I would VW. (answered by Briano on February 11, 72)

Q:

Buying a used subaru impreza car, which should I pick?

I think I want a Subaru impreza, but I don't want the i. There are three that I'm looking at.
1. 2009 impreza 2.5 gt with around 9000 miles for $24000
2. 2007 impreza wrx limited (I don't drive stick, this is the automatic version) with around 21,000 miles for $20,000
3. 2006 impreza wrx Limited with around 32,000 miles for $16,500

if anyone has details about personal experience with driving each car please include them. Thank you!!!!
(asked by i_say_yall on February 11, 9693)

A: Personally, i can't stand the styling on the 08+ Imprezas. I owned a 2007 WRX TR and absolutely love it. I'd go with the 06 for 16,500. I would recommend that you learn to drive a manual transmission if you want a WRX. The automatic sucks power and takes much of the enjoyment out of driving the car. Whichever you choose i'm sure you'll love it. (answered by J-FO on February 11, 4419)
