Q:

"what do the engine numbers mean on a suzuki motorcycle?

"what do the engine numbers mean on a suzuki motorcycle?
(asked by BILL on February 02, 2008)

A: Every Engine has a "production code" almost all manufacturers take advantage of this. So if you call Suzuki, or any decent Suzuki mechanic, they should know (for your type of engine), what displacement it is, what type head it is, sometimes what year it was made, etc etc etc.

this helps your order the correct part as small things evolve year over year.

For example, a throttle body may be different for a GSXR 600 from 2002 model to 2003 model, and a Suzuki 600 motor from a Katana could also be a totally different part as well.

to make all this explanation short, its so you can get the correct parts/ service when you need them.

hope this helps! (answered by Nino Brown on February 02, 2008)

Q:

Suzuki motorcycle?

I'm thinking of getting a Gs1986 suzuki 450L. I'm trying to find the specs. for this year and model. I've looked on the web and I either find the wrong year or the wrong model. I can find every other Gs model but the year I'm looking for. Are they just not that popular, or hard to find info about? I hope someone can help, It has under 5000 miles and well kept. A sweet deal but I'm no biker. First timer. I'd hate to let it slip because of something I can't find.
I've been to the link below already and it says 27hp, the other site I went to said 44hp 86' 450L. Confusing
(asked by Mikey on February 11, 4872)

A: If you want motor specs, try looking for GS450E.
Differences between E & L models were small.
Change the seat, bars, and maybe the front wheel of an E and you have an L. (answered by Firecracker . on February 11, 7565)

Q:

how do you get to the battery in a 2002 suzuki volusia motorcycle?

how do you get to the battery in a 2002 suzuki volusia motorcycle? I know it is under the front seat but how the hell do I get the seat off? Do I have to take the backseat off too?
(asked by kristine755 on November 28, 2007)

A: Take off the back pillion (remove the bolt directly behind the pillion)...then remove the driver's seat (one bolt behind the driver's seat)...it's under it. (answered by ms_beehayven on November 28, 2007)
