Q:

1988 Suzuki Samurai Possible Engine Swaps?

What are some possible engines that fit into a 88 Suzuki Samurai? My friends one is about to die and he loves the car...so please don't say get a new car. Is there anything besides a Tracker engine? Maybe something with a little speed and power. Any help would be awesome.
Thanks TJ

A: Here are two options. One is for a diesel swap, and the other a 4.3 GM Vortech. It probably won

Q:

I have an 1988 suzuki samurai and the check engine light is on.?

I have an 1988 suzuki samurai and the check engine light came on at 60,000 miles what does that mean, and what do I do.

A: It means that a sensor under the hood of your car which is attached to a piece of your engine is not functioning properly or is not communicating with the ECU (engine's computer/brain). Go to Autozone or a shop with an OBD1 scanner and have them download the trouble code (thing that makes the light turn on). They come on for a good reason. You should at least understand why it did. A: Have you checked the distributor? What about the plug wires themselves? (answered by schurz04 on April 09, 2008)
