A: It means that a sensor under the hood of your car which is attached to a piece of your engine is not functioning properly or is not communicating with the ECU (engine's computer/brain). Go to Autozone or a shop with an OBD1 scanner and have them download the trouble code (thing that makes the light turn on). They come on for a good reason. You should at least understand why it did.
