The Humane Society of Huron Valley has been named as a recipient in Toyota's "100 Cars for Good" online competition, which awards 100 vehicles during the course of 100 days to 100 deserving nonprofit organizations. Each day, five organizations are profiled on Toyota's Facebook page , where the public is invited to show support by voting to determine the winning nonprofit organization. HSHV will receive a new Toyota Tundra, a full-size pickup that will help its cruelty and rescue department save more animals, said Deb Kern, marketing director for the shelter. Animal rescuers in Washtenaw County will have a new tool to add to their arsenal, thanks to a donation from Toyota Motor Corp.

84 Toyota truck is making a light knocking sound?
I have a 1984 Toyota truck that makes a slight knocking sound or a "duh-duh-duh-duh-duh" sound while running. It doesnt seem to be affecting the way it runs and has been making this sound for a couple years now. Someone suggested i needed a valve adjustment. The trucks engine seems solid and this is probably a minor problem, but i want to provide any necessary maintenance before any serious problems arise. Any advice would be appreciated. A: If it isnt a 'tinny' sound does it have an air pump (i.e. california emissions) it sounds like an air pump noise! Its not unusual if you have a bad air pump diverter valve (answered by Brad G on March 10, 2008)
A: It is possible that you do need a valve adjustment, but take it to a reputable mechanic for an diagnosis and estimate before you do it. Collect at least 3 or 4 of these, then compare both the diagnosis and prices before you decide which to go with. Also check on the warranty on the work. (answered by johnny b good on March 10, 2008)

Will a 91 Toyota transmission work in an 88 toyota truck?
I have an 88 Toyota Truck 4x4 5 speed. I found a transmission out of a 91 4x4 5 speed. Can these be swapped?
What about the cross member, splines, and drive lines. Will these need to be switched or will they work as well. (asked by anna on April 05, 2008)
A: as long as both engines are the 22 r they should work i had one and we switched it,and it was supposed to be a 91 model transmission, it was bought from a salvage yard and they couldn't really verify what year it was from ,but it was marked a 91 and it did work well,good luck with it.
