Q:
Looking for a bolt on hardtail for a 1972 triumph trident?
(asked by Deano S on December 24, 2007)
A: WHY ON GODS GREEN EARTH WOULD YOU WANT TO DEVALUE A TRUE CLASSIC MOTORCYCLE? TURN A VINTAGE HIGH PERFORMANCE BRITISH ICON INTO WHAT? AN ILL HANDLING BOBBER? TRIDENTS ARE WELDED FRAMES, ALL YOU CAN DO IS RUIN IT. SELL IT TO SOMEONE THAT WILL TREAT IT DECENT AND RUIN SOME JAP BIKE. SERIOUSLY THERE ARE NO MODIFICATIONS THAT WILL IMPROVE THIS BIKE, ONLY MAKE IT RIDE AND HANDLE WORSE. IF YOU WANT ONE OF THOSE STUPID CHOPPER THINGS START WITH A STUPID CHOPPER FRAME. THEN USE A MORE AVAILABLE ENGINE, LIKE A YAMAHA OR HONDA. I PROMISE THAT IF YOU DO THIS YOUR TAKING A 5-8000 BIKE AND TURNING IT INTO A 1500 DOLLAR BIKE, AND THERE IS NO LOOKING BACK, ONCE YOU CUT THAT FRAME YOU HAVE JUNK. PERIOD. A: Contact the British Saloon
Car Club for contacts with
Triumph specific clubs. These are the guys with the sources for hard-to-find
parts for British
cars.

Q:
Turning a 2009 Triumph into a bobber?
I was wondering if you are able to easily turn a 2009 triumph into a bobber. I really dont know the frames on these bikes but can you add a bolt on hardtail to any of the new triumphs.
(asked by Benjamin D on April 03, 2009)
A: You can have a bobber with rear springs. Or you could simply replace the shock/springs with struts. Start with the America. Lose the rear fender, fender rails, pillion seat, rear pegs; add a piece of a trailer fender, side mount combo brake/run/turn lights. You would have a nice looking scoot without a whole lot of effort or money. (answered by Dimo J on April 03, 2009)
A: Its rare to hear of a custom Triumph I think its a fabulous idea however I think it may not be as easy as u are thinking. With Triumph being a rarely customized bike its a given that custom parts are even more rare. I've found it hard to find a bolt on hardtail for my 04 sportster which is set up like a bobber. I believe you will have more luck looking into having a hardtail fabricated & welded on.

Q:
Are Triumph motorcycle motor mounts the same between oil in frame and pre oil on 750's.?
I have a 79' bonneville 750 oil in frame and I want to install it in a British Cycles hardtail frame # 544-700 that uses pre-oil in frame motor mounts. Will this bolt right up?
