A: I will put it to you "this" way. My late husband was 6 feet 5 inches tall,
and there was nothing "gay" or funny looking about him. All it means is that you are a big guy who happens to have good taste in cars. VW's are great cars, that's why they are still around. Is there really a place in mexico where you can buy brand new classic volkswagen beetle?

I heard there is a place across the mexican border where they still make the classic beetles. Is this true? And how would I find them? I want to buy two.

A: not anymore Mexico stopped producing th VW about 10 years ago but you couldn't bring them into th US anyway they were banned. J.C. Whitney carried aftermarket parts for beetles for years that came from Mexico (answered by thunder6371 on February 11, 8697)

With all these high gas prices, a classic VW Beetle (1960's-1970's)
is getting hard to find these days, so I have reluctantly decided to build one from scratch. Can someone please tell me if any companies make replica car kits, and how much they cost?

A: They are not hard to find at all, there are over 1,000 for sale right now (answered by vwbuggin64 on October 12, 2008)

A: Get a copy of Hot VWs magazine. There are links and ads for all sorts of VW things in the back. They also have a website.

Kits exist- and range from 4 digits to low 5 digit numbers.

Classic beetles can be found at relatively low prices. You could buy a drivable one for a couple of grand, and just pay for license, registration and insurance.

There are probably VW clubs, shops near you...wherever you are. (answered by GeauxKSM on October 11, 2008)
