So it’s surprising that until this new model arrived in 2012 there’d only ever been one Golf GTI cabriolet before – the last one going out of production in 1993. A set of 18inch alloy wheels and twin exhaust pipes finish it off, while the inside sports subtle GTI badging, red leather stitching and those tartan seats. i have a 1998 volkswagen gti, i'm trying to get the stock wheels with all the spokes thats on the volkswagen r32 look on my car. but they have five lug unless there universal. it it possible or do i have to do a conversion? (asked by LIDRENA B on August 25, 2007)

How do I replace the reverse light bulb on my 2002 Volkswagen GTI?
How do I replace the reverse light bulb on my 2002 GTI? I can get to the other bulbs. The carpet prevents me from removing the reverse bulb. I can see one nut which I assume is for removing the taillight, but not the second nut. I found a guide on the 2006 GTI taillight replacement, but it seems Volkswagen changed everything, so that will not work. If any of you have done and know where
(and what size) the second nut is, please post! Pictures would be very helpful!

A: push the carpet down while wiggling the bulb holder, it will come out it just takes some wiggling and pushing. (answered by vw tech on January 17, 2007)

I'm thinking of purchasing a 2001 or 2002 Volkswagen GTI. I heard from one dealer that there have been problems with the transmission for those years, between 85,000-120,000 miles. A: It really depends on how they were treated, I have seen some clutches go out and a few 2-3 shift issues but not many. Mostly it goes down to who drove it last and how hard they drove it (answered by jb88 on October 07, 2007)
