i hope u might have some kinda reason for why this is happening?
i have a 99 volkswagon jetta powerwindows.. occassionally i will go to get in my car and the alarm goes off and wont let me start my car!!!
it seems like when it sits in the sun for a long time it does this?
is this normal have you heard of this? what do you think it is?

A: Is this normal - no.
I think you are thinking it is the sun. But it could be anything - maybe temperature related - or something else.
If you have factory installed alarm, you should just take it back to the dealer and have them replace the alarm unit (nobody fixes the alarm unit any more).

Also - I own an 2000 Audi A4 and if you leave the power window slightly OPEN and turn on the alarm - the alarm will go sound (alarm sounds). This is for factory installed alarm.

How do I locate the Low Side service port in the A/C system of a 1996 Volkswagon Jetta?
I'm trying to recharge my A/C/ systems and need to locate the low side service port of the A/C system in my 1996 Volkswagon Jetta Trek. All of the third party repair manuals (Haynes) sink and show no photos... The recharge hose, such as that with the Quest r134a recharge kit, are only supposed to fit the low side.
Okay. more details. the vale is NOT in front of the radiator and even if it was, it wouldn't be accessible unless the entire front end was dismantled. A VW Jetta is so cramed in the engine compartment that tracing hoses is nearly impossible Has anyone recharged a 1996 (or close) jetta?

A: Follow the tubes from the ac compressor, you will find the service valve most likely next to the condenser (in front of the radiator) with a plastic cap with a letter L on it. (answered by Kmax on May 22, 2007)
