Q:

How do i do a burnout with a volvo 850 turbo?

i have a 94 volvo 850 turbo automatic FWD and i want to know how to do a burnout with it. i have tried the ebrake way but it doesnt work well. Has anybody done it? How can i do it?
(asked by Mike T on May 15, 2008)

A: Its an automatic so it is hard to do a burnout especially with an old car. Get a manual next time:P (answered by War Child on May 16, 2008)

Q:

How much or where could i sell the parts of my volvo 850 turbo?

Alright so my 1994 volvo 850 turbo is totaled. Where could i sell my parts or the whole car? It doesn't run. How much could i sell the stock turbo for? Thanks
(asked by Ben T on April 04, 2008)

A: craigslist would be good but if you want to make some money. disassemble the in tire car. computers, radio, hvac unit, even the steering wheel. I mean everything. stack it all in your garage. sell each part on eBay. make sure you get the shipping right on heavy stuff. you will make a grip of cash.
just let them bid. auto recyclers make killer money. now the rest of the car pay 50bucks out of all the profit and have it hall ed off. you will be happy you did when you wallet cant close. (answered by t20blunkall on April 05, 2008)

Q:

Tell me what you know about 1995 volvo 850 turbo wagon?

I found a 1995 volvo 850 turbo wagon for sale for $500. It didn't pass smog due to high hydrocarbons, the battery only stays charged for 2weeks, and lastly the odometer stopped working 6mo ago at 141k. Everything else is beautiful. I am just wondering if these are somewhat easy fixes or maybe if there are additional common problems that will just keep going and going.
(asked by Danielle K on February 10, 7563)

A: This car sounds like an excellent deal,
You need to have a max number in your head that you are willing to spend to make repairs, so that when you spend $1000 you are not shocked.
Probally did not pass smog because the catalytic converter is bad or the air pump (if so equipped) is not working.
The cat converter is around $400-500 for an aftermarket part with the install.
The airpump can be had used for around $100 and no more than $100 to install.
The fact that the battery dies leads me to belive it is just not holding a change, typically batteries should be replaced every 5 years, or the alternator is bad. Battery will run around $100 and the alternator for a rebuilt one and install is around $400-500.
The odometer has probablly stopped working due to the gear being broken.
You can order all of these parts on the internet, one site I have used is fcpgroton.com They have been very helpful and the prices are good.

Yes the turbo when it fails will not be cheap, figure around $1000-1500 but with 141k that should not be an issue in the next 40-50k I have seen them go on cars into the mid 200k's

My advise is buy the car assuming you have the money to make some repairs, seems to me like you could have a decent car for around $2000-2500. (answered by very confused on February 10, 6617)
